About Indochina Land Tour
What we do, who we do it for, and the work we turn down. Indochina Land Tour handles the land part of trips in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for agencies and tour operators abroad.
What we do
We are a destination management company in the narrow sense: we buy, combine and run the services on the ground, and we sell them to travel businesses rather than to travellers. A land programme from us is hotels, transport, guides, boats, tickets and meals, put together into days that work, priced line by line and operated by people who have the whole file in front of them.
Our customers are overseas agencies and tour operators. They sell the trip to their clients under their own name, set their own retail price and keep the relationship with the traveller. Our job is to make sure that what they sold happens, and to tell them quickly when something on the ground changes.
Private land programmes
One to eight travellers with their own vehicle and guide, quoted with named hotels.
Series groups
The same programme on many dates, built on hotel allotments and a guide roster.
Tailor-made groups
One group, one brief: a theme, a date or a route built from scratch.
How we work with agents
- Quotes itemised by service, with hotels and boats named, so that you can compare and edit them
- Booking status reported per line: confirmed, waitlisted, on request
- Deadlines, payment terms and cancellation scales set once, in the agency contract
- Guides briefed in writing on whose clients they are carrying and what was sold
- Changes on the ground reported to you in writing, with the options when money is involved
The detail is on the booking steps and operations pages. If something there does not match how your company works, say so in your first request; most of it can be adjusted in the contract.
What we do not do
- We do not sell to individual travellers. A traveller who writes to us is asked which agent they are booking with. We do not undercut the agents we work for.
- We do not run MICE. Conferences, incentive trips and corporate events need a different kind of team; we do not quote them.
- We do not sell single services on their own. An airport transfer or a visa letter with nothing else is not something we quote.
- We do not handle visas. Travellers apply for their own visas; we tell you the rules that apply to the route.
- We do not operate outside Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Programmes that include another country need another ground handler for that sector.
What we are not good at
Every ground handler has limits, and it is better that you hear ours before you sell a programme.
- Languages other than English on peak dates. We can quote other languages, but in Tet week or at Christmas the guides may not exist.
- Very large groups in the old towns. Hoi An and Luang Prabang are built for small numbers; a group of 40 there needs splitting and more guides, and it shows in the price.
- Last-minute series. Allotments for a high-season series need to be agreed well in advance; a series requested a few weeks before departure is quoted as individual groups, at individual group rates.
- Remote overland routes. Long road crossings into Laos are possible but slow; we quote them, and we say when a flight would serve the clients better.
Why there are no client reviews on this site
The travellers we look after are your clients, not ours, and most agencies prefer that their clients are not contacted by their suppliers. We do not collect or publish traveller reviews.
If you want a reference before working with us, say so in your request. We will tell you what we can share and how.

Working with a new ground handler?
Send a request for one sample programme. The quote will show you more about how we work than this page can.
Common questions
Questions agents ask
Is Indochina Land Tour a travel agency for travellers?
No. We are a ground handler that sells land programmes to agencies and tour operators. Travellers book through their own agent.
Do you organise conferences or incentive trips?
No. We do not run MICE or corporate event programmes.
Can you handle the Thai sector of a programme?
No. We operate in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos only. Another ground handler needs to take any sector outside those three countries.
Why do you not publish your rates?
Because land rates depend on the dates, the group and the hotels, and because they are net rates intended for agents, not for the public.
